Kitchens, for all shapes and sizes

A kitchen is a big part of your home. But as we have said before, not every home is a standard shape, and not every client has a standard design in mind. 

We specialise in solid wood construction kitchens, with the cabinets, shelves and frames made in solid timber. We do not use chipboard carcasses, nor do we have a range of standard sizes. Every cabinet is made individually, so if you have a complicated shape or size, that's no problem, we make it so it fits.

We offer a range of internal fitting options, such as magic corners and recycling bins and all our fittings are high quality.

The external finishes we offer are painted, lacquered and various types of oil. The internal surfaces are lacquered so they are sealed and wipe clean.

We can arrange for appliances to be delivered to our workshop, so that they are fitted to the units before delivery to yourselves.

A painted look in a old property

This property can only be described as beautifully quirky. Nothing is standard here! The owner wanted a contemporary kitchen that suited the age and style of the house, but that also fitted!

Mike designed a shaker style kitchen with wooden worktops and door knobs. A butler sink and shelf to link the upper units, and a magic corner help make the best use of space in this section.

Floor to ceiling cupboards give loads of storage and make full use of the available space.

This housekeepers cupboard fits the shape of the room perfectly, working with the structural timbers, and the breakfast bar allows space underneath for the dog bed.

Country kitchen with all mod cons

Kitchens are the heart of the home, and where a lot of families spend a lot of their day. I make fitted or free standing kitchen units out of solid timber.

The cabinets are made of softwood and the doors, frames, fascias,  kick boards, and end panels can be oak, or softwood.

I use top quality drawer runners and my shelves in the units are on fully adjustable book case strips.

This kitchen uses raised and fielded panels, with a fitted microwave, coffee machine and dishwasher.

Using all the space, the units are all on fully adjustable legs, hidden behind kick boards, which make fitting on uneven floors much easier!

Solid oak doors on this island unit are in the shaker style with granite work tops.

The work tops I use are either top quality melamine, Corian, granite or solid timber. I can arrange all the details using tried and tested local companies.

Fitting in a variety of appliances this kitchen has plenty of storage.

The design process fully involves the client and as I am making the kitchen to fit your room, and your appliances, I can make any size of unit. I can install high quality storage solutions for those who want them, or keep it simple for those who don't.

This island climbs the step so that there is more floor space on the lower level.

Whilst this island has baskets for storage and a solid oak top and knobs to make a contemporary finish.

Matching the rest of the fitted kitchen, it allows an efficient working triangle.

A painted oak dresser makes a useful storage and display area, whilst keeping in with the kitchen design and colour.

Fitted or free standing white goods can be accommodated, and if in the future, your appliances change I can re fit the original kitchen to them. the beauty of handmade bespoke furniture!

Modern house traditional style

This kitchen is in a modern house, the external surfaces are oak, with shaker style panels. This larder unit and cupboard, cleverly fits round the staircase, maximising storage.

The glazed doors of the dresser cabinet add a display area and compliment the glazed door to the kitchen. The glass is toughened. 

Changing what you have?

Moved house, The kitchen is beautiful, but its not quite what I want........

Kitchen units, however they are made, are modules. The cabinet might hold a dishwasher, or might just be a cupboard. There might be a drawer bank that you love, but its next to a freezer you will never use? 

If the kitchen is a good quality hand built kitchen, there is a good chance we can change it to work for you.

These two deep pan drawers used to be a single oven. We removed the oven, created a new cabinet to fit the gap, and made two drawers to fit.

We then moved the rounded island unit along, and fitted in a full height oven housing, so that a new double oven could be included at a height the client wanted. The cabinets we made to match the existing kitchen. The whole kitchen was then painted the same colour.

I think most people would be pushed to tell what was old and what was new!
